Confirming his defection from the PDP to the ruling APC, Sulaiman-Bichi said after negotiating with relevant stakeholders of APC, he resolved to advance his political career in APC.
“We have been negotiating and discussing with relevant stakeholders of the party and at the end, I have decided to declare my move to APC today (Wednesday),” The Nation quoted him as saying.
Sulaiman-Bichi said he will later in the day address the press on why he defected from PDP to APC.
The Nation gathered that Bichi, who was one of the closest allies and a cabinet member of the former state governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has abandoned his former boss.
It was also gathered that hundred of Kwankwaso’s followers are warming up to follow the one-time secretary to the Kano government, by dumping the PDP.
Sulaiman-Bichi’s close ally, however, hinted that the move to dump the PDP was long overdue, and it was before the judgement of the Supreme Court, which affirmed Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the validly elected governor of Kano.
