Giadom made headlines last week after he declared himself the party’s acting national chairman in place of Adams Oshiomhole whose suspension from last year was upheld by a Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Giadom claimed he was entitled to taking over from Oshiomhole because a court had granted such a request in March 2020.
However, the party’s NWC said he was no longer a member of the committee because he resigned to contest as deputy governor in the 2019 Rivers State governorship election, and was yet to be readmitted.
The Rivers chapter of the APC has now suspended him for bringing the party “irredeemable disrepute” through “numerous infractions of the party constitution and conduct”.
The Rivers’ APC spokesperson, Livingstone Wechie, said on Sunday, June 21, that Giadom should immediately write a letter of apology to the party, and publish it in three national newspapers, according to a report by Vanguard.
The state chapter further sent the name of Worgu Boms, a former attorney-general of Rivers State, to replace Giadom in the NWC.
Woms was sworn into the committee early on Monday, June 22 at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The APC NWC is currently led by Hilliard Etta, who is acting national chairman in place of former Oyo governor, Abiola Ajimobi, who was originally named acting national chairman in place of Oshiomhole, but is currently hospitalised with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
